How to Apply

a) Candidates are required to apply online only, by using the website www.upsconline.nic.in Detailed instructions for filling up online applications are available on the above mentioned website. However candidates residing in certain remote areas specified in Para 6 of this Notice, may also apply through offline mode, by using the New Common Application Form (Form-E) being used for examinations conducted by the Commission. This Form can be purchased from the designated Head post Offices/Post Offices (specified in Appendix-III of the Notice) throughout the country against cash payment of Rs.30/- (Rupees Thirty Only). Each such Form can be used only once and only for one examination. In case of any difficulty in obtaining Application Forms from the designated HPOs/ POs, the candidates should immediately contact the concerned post Master or UPSC’s “FORMS SUPPLY MONITORING CELL” over Telephone No. 011-23389366/ FAX No. 011-23387310. It may be noted that all offline applications, if any, received from candidates residing in normal areas/ abroad, shall be summarily rejected by the Commission. UP State Entrance Examination (UPSEE - 2011)

The entrance examination for degree level engineering institutions and management and other professional colleges has been assigned to Mahamaya Technical University, Noida vide Govt. order no. 4260/solah-12009-13(7)/09 dated 18-01-2010. Further, the Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, Technical Education Department, vide office order has consented for the constitution of Central Admission Board (CAB) under the Chairmanship of the Vice Chancellor, Mahamaya Technical University, Noida to supervise and control the State Entrance Examination herein after referred as UPSEE- 2011 being conducted by MTU, Noida. The CAB has absolute right for conducting of UPSEE- 2011, and to decide about modalities of admissions and allotment of seats. The jurisdiction of CAB extends to colleges/institutes affiliated to GBTU, Lucknow and MTU, Noida. The CAB is authorised to take every decision regarding conduct and admissions through UPSEE.

The Entrance Examination for admission to first year of the following courses offered at the Institutions affiliated to GBTU, Lucknow and MTU, Noida including other mentioned universities situated in territory of Uttar Pradesh for the academic year 2011-12 shall be conducted by Mahamaya Technical University, Noida, as UPSEE- 2011.

Direct Admission


(i)The eligible candidates seeking direct admission to second year of B. Tech. (for engineering diploma holders and B.Sc. graduates both) or B.Pharm. (only for Pharmacy diploma holders) in institutions affiliated to GBTU, Lucknow and MTU, Noida, are required to submit the application forms to Registrar, Mahamaya Technical University, Noida by 04th March, 2011. Such candidates are also required to appear in the specified paper of entrance examination.

(ii) Such seats are limited to a maximum of 10% in addition to the sanctioned intake in institutions/colleges for different courses at first year level.

(iii) Direct admission to second year shall not be made in B.Arch./BHMCT/BFAD/MBA/MCA Courses.

ADMISSION NOTIFICATION FOR ADMISSION IN M. TECH. / M. PHARM. SESSION 2009-10


Applications are invited for admission to first semester M.Tech. and M.Pharm. Programmes (AICTE approved) in various disciplines at different institutions of U. P. Technical University, Lucknow. The candidate has to fill an on-line application (www.uptu.ac.in) with all relevant details. The print copy of the same along with requisite fee and certified copies of documents must reach to The Registrar, U. P. Technical University, I.E.T. Campus, Sitapur Road, Lucknow - 2226 021 (U.P.) on or before 25th June, 2009.

The fee should be in the form of demand draft of Rs. 1000/- for General / OBC candidates and Rs. 500/- for SC/ST & female candidates of all categories in favour of ‘Finance Officer, U.P. Technical University, Lucknow’ payable at Lucknow. The details of sort listed candidates will be displayed on the university website on 22nd July, 2009. The expected dates of counseling – between 8th to 10th August, 2009.

Eligibility Criteria

1. The applicant for M. Tech. / M. Pharm. programme must fulfill the following criteria:

(i) For General / OBC candidates 60 % marks in GraduatIion in Engg. or Technology / B. Pharm. or equivalent.

(ii) For SC/ST candidates 55 % marks in Graduation in Engg. or Technology / B. Pharm. or equivalent.

(iii) For admission to M.Tech. (Computer Sc., Information Technology and related branches), candidates having degree of MCA, M.Sc.(CS) or M.Sc.(IT) with at least 60% marks for General/OBC candidates and 55% marks for SC/ST candidates are also eligible.

(iv) For admission to M.Tech. (Electronics Engg. and related branches), candidates having degree of M.Sc. (Electronics) with at least 60% marks for General/OBC candidates and 55% marks for SC/ST candidates are also eligible.

(v) For admission to M.Tech. (Chemical Technology and related branches), candidates having degree of M.Sc. (Chemistry). with at least 60% marks for General/OBC candidates and 55% marks for SC/ST candidates are also eligible.

(vi) For admission to M.Tech. (Hill area development Engg.) / M.Tech. (Environmental Engg.): B.Tech./B.E. or equivalent in any branch of engineering / technology OR B.Arch. or equivalent. OR M.Sc. in any discipline or Master degree in Mathematics / Geography with at least 60% marks for General / OBC candidates and 55% marks for SC/ST candidates are also eligible. Candidates not having Mathematics at Intermediate level shall be required to compulsorily qualify a non-credit course on Mathematics of Intermediate level in the first semester of M.Tech. programme.

(vii) For admission to M. Tech. (Bio-Technology), candidate having degree of M.Sc. in Physical/Chemical /Biological /Veterinary /Agricultural Science or Biotechnology or Bioinformatics or equivalent degree in relevant disciplines or B.E./ B.Tech. in Chemical / Bioinformatics / Biochemical / Food / Agriculture/ Environmental or equivalent degree in relevant discipline or MBBS / B.Pharm./ B.V.Sc. / B.D.S with at least 60% marks for General / OBC candidates and 55% marks for SC/ST candidates are also eligible.

(viii) For admission to M.Tech. (Plastic Engineering), candidates having degree of B.Tech./ B.E. in Chemical Engg./ Chemical Technology / Polymer Science & Technology / Mechanical Engg. / Production Engg./ Petrochemical Technology or equivalent of above degrees / course or M.Sc. Chemistry / Industrial Chemistry / Polymer Science with at least 60% marks for General / OBC candidates and 55% marks for SC/ST candidates are also eligible.

(xi) For admission to M.Tech. (CAD-CAM), candidates must have following qualifications: B.Tech./ B.E. in Mechanical Engg./ Automobile Engg./ Chemical Engg./ Chemical Technology/ Civil Engg. or allied branches with at least 60% marks for General/ OBC candidates and 55% marks for SC/ST candidates.

(x) For admission to M.Tech. (Automation & Robotics), candidates must have following qualifications: B.Tech. / B.E. in Mechanical Engg. / Electrical Engg./ Electronics & Communication Engg. / Computer Science & Engg. or allied branches with at least 60% marks for General / OBC candidates and 55% marks for SC/ST candidates.

2. The equivalency of any degree for admission to any programme will be decided by University. The eligibility criteria given above are minimum and mere possessing the same does not qualify the eligibility for admissions. University may prescribe any other requirements over and above these conditions.

1. Candidates with above qualifications and with Valid GATE score will be given first preference in admission.

2. Graduates in Engineering / Technology will be given second preference in admission.

3 Is online examination based on Internet?

4 When will online examination be conducted?


The planned scheduled is between 7th May to 26th May 2012

5 What will be the time of online examination ?


The exam will be twice a day I.e. in two shifts. One shift from 9.00 AM to 12.00 PM and another one from 2.00 PM to 5.00 PM

6 What computer knowledge is required to appear for Online examination (CBT Mode) ?

The candidate need to know only how to operate computer mouse. That is all required.

7 What are the advantages in opting for online mode of examination ?

You will get the flexibility in choosing the exam date (between 7th May and 26th May) of your choice as per your convenience.

You will also get the choice of your shift (9 AM to 12 PM / 2 PM to 5 PM) based on your convenience. It will make you feel confident on use of Information technology. You can also save upto Rs. 300 in Exam fees compare to Offline mode

Medium of examination is English and Hindi both. You can also switch medium as many times as you want during the examination as every question will apprear both in English and Hindi.

You can opt for city of your choice as per list of online exam cities at the time of filling application form only.

11 How secure is the Online examination?


It is very secure as human intervention is minimal

12 How can I practice for Online examination ?


You can practice free of cost throught webbased mock test which will be available on CBSE website soon. This will give you actual idea of the format of Online Exam (Computer Based Test I.e.CBT mode).

13 What will happen in case there is some problem in computer during the examination ?

There will be enough buffer systems available in the examination center to take care of such problems and time lost in change of system will be duly taken care as each and every second will be recorded by the server.

14 When will the result of Online examination be declared?

Combined result will be declared alongwith the offline examination candidates.

15 Will there be a question booklet like in offline examination?

In Online (CBT mode) exam the questions will appear on computer screen along with the answer options. Instruction page will also be displayed before the actual test begins.The time of reading of instructions will not be part of examination duration.

16 Will I get the paper of online examination as we get in Offline exam?


Yes, the paper will be mailed to you after the exam schedule is over.

There will four options of each question. You have to click one of the options using your computer mouse which can be reviewed or re-answered any time during the duration of the examination

There will be a panel on computer screen showing all the question nos in different colour scheme which will indicate which are the questions answered, left un answered and marked for review.

20 Can I change my answer ?


Yes during the exam duration and it is one of the most important feature of online examination.

21 If I have selected medium of question paper as English but want to see question in Hindi for more clarity or vice-a-versa, is this possible ?

Yes you can easily do with the click of computer mouse.

Your B.E./B.Tech Exam will be conducted in online mode and B.Planning/B.Arch in offline mode in the same city.
