CAT 2012 Important Dates Announced-Notification & Registration


According to an official announcement made by the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2012 will be conducted by IIM-Kozhikode between October 11 andNovember 6, 2012.

The sale of vouchers will commence July 30, 2012 onwards.

Taken by over 2 lakh aspirants every year, performance in the CAT is crucial for admission to the coveted IIMs and some of the top business schools in the country.

Starting last year, the computer-based test comprises two sections that are separately timed. The sections are (a) Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (b) Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning.

Each section will be of 1 hour and 10 minutes (ie 70 minutes) duration and there will be 30 questions in each section.

Once a section ends, aspirants can no longer go back to it. Aspirants will be presented with the section on Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation first, followed by Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning.

Who can apply?

To appear for CAT, the candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree, with at least 50 percent marks or equivalent CGPA [45 percent in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA)], awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

How to apply

If you meet the eligibility criteria, you need to purchase a voucher from any of the participating Axis Bank branches and register for the test.

During registration, you will have to do the following:

1. Create a profile.
2. Fill out the CAT application. 
3. Schedule your test.

You may choose a date between October 11 and November 6, 2012 and schedule your test.

Important Dates :
Sale of vouchers will commence July 30, 2012 onwards. Last date for purchase of vouchers isSeptember 17, 2012.
Applicants can register for the exam between July 30 and September 19, 2012.
The exam is scheduled between October 11 and November 6, 2012
The results will be declared on January 9, 2013.

SSC FCI Assistant Grade-III Syllabus 2013 (Paper I, II & III)


Selection for the posts will be based on a Written Examination which will be conducted by Staff Selection Commission. All papers in the examination will consist of Objective Type Multiple Choice questions.

The scope of the test will be computation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, Percentage. Ratio & Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Alligation, Time and distance, Time & Work, Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra & Elementary surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles, Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons , Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square base, Trigonometric ratio, Degree and Radian Measures, Standard Identities, Complementary angles, Heights and Distances, Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar diagram & Pie chart. 

English Language : Candidate‘s ability to understand correct English, his basic comprehension and writing ability, etc. would be tested.

Paper III (Post Technical-Code C) 
(Degree Level) 
The question paper will consist of questions in – Botany, Zoology, Bio-technology, Bio-chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science and Technology, Agriculture and Agricultural Engineering.
