माध्यमिक शिक्षा से मांगा टीईटी 2011 का बचा पैसा
लखनऊ (ब्यूरो)। राज्य सरकार ने माध्यमिक शिक्षा विभाग को टीईटी-2011 का बचा पैसा परीक्षा नियामकप्राधिकारी इलाहाबाद को देने के लिए कहा है। इस संबंध में शासन स्तर से गुरुवार को माध्यमिक शिक्षा निदेशक बासुदेव यादव को पत्र भेजा गया है। इसमें कहा गया है कि बचा पैसा शीघ्र वापस कर दिया जाए, ताकि टीईटी- 2012 की तैयारियां शुरू कराई जा सकें। राज्य सरकार ने इस बार टीईटी कराने की जिम्मेदारी परीक्षा नियामक प्राधिकारी इलाहाबाद को सौंपी है। टीईटी के लिए 10 अक्तूबर तक विज्ञापन निकालने के साथ 25 अक्तूबर तक आवेदन लिए जानेकी तैयारी है।
यूपी में वर्ष 2011 में पहली बार टीईटी आयोजित कराई गई थी। तत्कालीन बसपा सरकार ने इसे कराने की जिम्मेदारी माध्यमिक शिक्षा परिषद को दी थी। टीईटी के लिए करीब 14 लाख अभ्यर्थियों ने आवेदन किए थे। सामान्य और पिछड़ा वर्ग के अभ्यर्थियों से 500 रुपये और अनुसूचित जाति व जनजाति के अभ्यर्थियों से 250 रुपये परीक्षा शुल्क लिया गया था।

वाराणसी : संपूर्णानंद संस्कृत विश्वविद्यालय के विभिन्न परीक्षाओं के अंकपत्र व प्रमाणपत्र में किसी प्रकार का संशोधन अब पांच वर्ष के भीतर ही होगा। परीक्षा परिणाम घोषित होने के पांच वर्ष बाद अंकपत्रों के संशोधन के लिए आवेदन पत्र पर विचार नहीं किया जाएगा।
कुलपति प्रो. बिंदा प्रसाद मिश्र की अध्यक्षता में गुरुवार को हुई परीक्षा समिति की बैठक यह फैसला लिया गया। 2012 वर्षीय परीक्षा का अब तक अंकपत्र न लेने वाले संबद्ध 14 महाविद्यालयों से तीन अक्टूबर तक का मौका देने का निर्णय लिया गया। इसके बाद भी अंकपत्र न ले जाने वाले महाविद्यालयों को वर्ष 2013 के परीक्षा आवेदन पत्र से वंचित कर दिया जाएगा। दूसरी ओर कुछ महाविद्यालयों को जिस नाम से मान्यता मिली है उससे इतर पैड व मोहर का इस्तेमाल करने को समिति ने अनुचित माना और चेतावनी देने का निर्णय लिया। बैठक प्रो. यदुनाथ दुबे, प्रो. राम किशोर त्रिपाठी, प्रो. शारदा चतुर्वेदी, प्रो. सदानंद शुक्ल, उप कुलसचिव महेंद्र कुमार आदि उपस्थित थे

Veteran Bollywood Actor A. K. Hangal Passed Away

Veteran Bollywood actor A. K. Hangal passed away in Mumbai on 26 August after a prolonged illness aggravated by a recent hip fracture. Hangal was 98.
According to a hospital official, Hangal was on life-support systems for the past few days but did not respond to treatment.

Hangal was admitted to the Asha Parekh Hospital Aug 16 following a hip fracture. He had been suffering from old age health problems for a long time.

His wife passed away before and he is survived by his son, Vijay.

The actor was associated with the film industry since 1967 and worked in nearly 225 films. He is best known for his roles in "Parichay" and "Sholay".

Hangal was last seen in a TV show, "Madhubala", in May 2012.

Devendra Kumar Joshi is new Navy chief

Admiral Devendra Kumar Joshi, an anti-submarine warfare specialist, on 31 August, 2012 took over as the new Navy chief.
58-year-old Joshi succeeds Admiral Nirmal Verma who retires on 31 August.

Joshi, who was the Western naval commander, has taken over the force at a time when it is set to operate two aircraft carriers and induct a large number of warships, long-range surveillance aircraft and submarines. He will have a three-year tenure.

He has commanded the tri-services Andaman and Nicobar Island Command and also headed the Integrated Defence Staff Headquarters here. He also commanded the Vizag-based Eastern Fleet.

Commissioned in 1974, he has commanded aircraft carrier INS Viraat, guided-missile destroyer Ranvir and corvette INS Kuthar. He has been awarded Nausena Medal,Vishist Seva Medal and Yudh Seva Medal respectively. He subsequently commanded the Eastern Fleet, wherein he was awarded Ati Vishist Seva Medal (AVSM).

A graduate of the Naval War College, USA, he is an alumnus of the College of Naval Warfare, Mumbai and National Defence College here.

He is married to Chitra Joshi and the couple have two daughters.

Miss World 2012 winner Wen Xia Yu (China PR)


Miss World 2012 is Wenxia YU from The Peoples Republic of China.
This is the second time Miss China has been awarded the title. The last time was in 2007 when Zhang Zilin took the honor.

The first runner-up is Sophie Elizabeth Moulds of Wales and the second runner-up is Jessica Michelle Kahawaty of Australia.

The 23-year-old Yu is a music student who says she wants to become a music teacher.

This is the first time for the Inner Mongolian city of Ordos to host the international beauty pageant.

The city is one of the richest regions in China thanks to its abundant natural resources. It hopes the world event will raise its profile for economic development and tourism.

Sanya, another Chinese city, has hosted the contest several times.




Rita Faria was the first Indian to bag the title in 1966, followed by Aishwarya Rai (1994), Diana Hayden (1997), Yukta Mookhey (1999) and Priyanka Chopra (2000). China has already hosted the competition five times.

Kaushik Basu appointed World Bank chief economist

The World Bank on 5 September, 2012 named Kaushik Basu as its chief economist, placing a candidate from an emerging market country in a key position at the global development lender.
Basu, who was most recently chief economic adviser to the government of India, is the World Bank's second chief economist from a developing country. He replaces Justin Lin, a citizen of China, whose term expired on June 1, 2012.

Basu, who holds a Ph.D. from the London School of Economics, is on leave from his position as a professor of economics and international studies at Cornell University in New York. He previously founded the Centre for Development Economics at the Delhi School of Economics.

Emerging market countries have long pushed for more clout at the poverty-fighting World Bank and its sister institution, the International Monetary Fund.

Starting from October, Basu will serve under new World Bank President Jim Yong Kim, a Korean-American and who took the helm of the World Bank two months ago.
